| A simple high-throughput test that provides total aerobic viable counts (TVC, APC) of food
samples by measuring bacterial oxygen consumption and equating oxygen consumption to microbial load.
As bacteria in the test sample grow and respire they deplete O2 which is detected as an increase in the
GreenLight™ probe signal above the baseline level. The time required to reach this increase in signal is
used to calculate the cfu/g of the original food sample, based on a pre-determined calibration.
AOAC approved, the test can provide results the same day (including sample preparation and incubation
time), providing rapid, easy and sensitive enumeration of bacterial load without the need to conduct
multiple sample dilutions and lengthy, tedious counts on agar.
Extremely cost effective and fast with the ability to screen up to 384 samples in parallel.
• Same day results – TVC (cfu/g) level 108 in under 45 minutes (including preparation and incubation)
TVC (cfu/g) level 106 in under 6 hours (including sample preparation and incubation)
• Easy sample preparation – same as for standard agar plate method, but without the need to perform
multiple sample dilutions –
• Simple protocol – add sample, GreenLight™ Probe, seal and measure
• Detects live bacteria – Excellent correlation with standard agar plate
method
• Save on time, labor, consumables, remove the need for agar plates
• Variety of testing protocols available
• AOAC approved
