Position Description:

Role Summary

The Product Marketing Manager (for our Package Testing Products & Services) is a member of the Global Product Management Team.  The main focus of this role is to assess the needs of the assigned product line and drive marketing activities in support of near-term sales.   The Product Marketing Manager will incorporate the business unit’s strategic initiatives into its marketing activities, and will work on initiating campaigns, creating promotions, developing advertisement and web copy, reviewing marketing collateral, leading/supporting global marketing planning, and presenting at conferences and sales meetings.  The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with the Product Manager and the knowledge experts at the product line’s manufacturing center of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The assigned product-line is Package Testing Products & Services (PTPS), which includes Dansensor and Lippke branded products
  • Assess and understand our current markets and business practices, especially those that are underserved or poorly performing, and uncover gaps and opportunities for near-term sales growth (1-2 years)
  • Assess and understand the service offering for the assigned product line, and uncover gaps and opportunities for near-term sales growth (1-2 years)
  • Drive marketing efforts from start to finish for assigned product line in support of strategic initiatives and opportunities for near-term growth
  • Train sales team to understand our marketing message with impactful collateral, and train sales team how to deliver that message with simple sales tools (Presentations, Calculators, Models)
  • Reach product-line specific, global revenue and global selling profit goals, set annually
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager, and Sales Leadership to develop effective marketing campaigns
  • Work with Marketing Communications and Applications Specialists to ensure marketing content is delivered with sound technical value propositions
  • Write website and advertisement copy to keep content up to date and impactful
  • Drive the creation of short videos and webinars that bring in new customers, and support legacy customers
  • Improve our ease of doing business with the marketplace, including helping with e-commerce solutions, CRM, and web-to-CRM platform developments
  • Lead and support global marketing planning activities, including tradeshows, ads and online activity selections
  • Recommend applications work that will support near-term sales growth
  • Support Product Management in developing Go-To-Market strategies and Product Launch campaigns
  • Support Product Management in developing global pricing

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related field required.
  • 5+ years of Applications Specialists, Product Management, or Product Marketing experience, preferably with a manufacturing or B2B company.

  • Be data-driven and fact-based in assessing market and business, and making recommendations
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is critical.
  • Effective communication skills cross-functionally with different department stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing and Product Management.
  • Excellent project management, organization, documentation, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to lead group work to ensure everyone understands the objectives and their roles in achieving the objectives on time.
  • Self-starter to initiate work and execute solutions.
  • Manages by influence cross-functionally to achieve goals and objectives
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to assess situations and make sound decisions with incomplete information
  • Strong communication skills, able to summarize value propositions succinctly and effectively

  • This is a full-time position. Standard business operation hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  These hours do not apply to all positions. Please consult with supervisor on working hours for position.  Also, this position may require additional hours of work as requested by business needs.
