Position Description:

Role Summary

Accurately verifies, accepts and stores incoming parts and supplies.  Prepares all outgoing goods for prompt, accurate and cost-effective methods of shipping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate daily records of all parts and supplies received and or shipped.
  • Performs cycle counts of physical inventory and assists in ensuring accurate levels of inventory are maintained.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate levels of supplies for labeling and storage of parts and shipping material.
  • Provides input to assure safe and cost-effective methods of handling goods for shipping.  Coordinates pick-up and delivery schedules with freight companies as well as follow ups.
  • Coordinates with Test & Checkout to ensure instruments/parts are acceptable for shipping (to include completion of necessary paperwork).
  • Maintains current standards of handling hazardous materials and controlled substances including the successful completion of any required classes or course work.
  • Follows general housekeeping procedures to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Is knowledgeable in use and handling of tools and forklift.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow regulations applicable to domestic and international shipments
  • Work with UPS/FedEx/Freight Forwarders to meet customer acknowledged ship dates

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.  

  • Two plus years of International shipping experience including filing exports on ACE portal when required by value and filling out a Shippers Letter of Instruction (SLI); 
  • Working knowledge with understanding commercial invoice requirements, incoterms and harmonized codes;  
  • 3+ years computer/data entry/word processing experience; 
  • UPS and Federal Express shipping experience; 
  • Knowledgeable in hazardous material handling and certification in shipping hazardous material or the ability to attain certification.
  • Requires the ability to understand general arithmetic; 
  • Ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations;
